What are your hours?

The Flying Squirrel Pub is open six days a week. We are closed on Mondays.  We open daily at 11:00 for Lunch and close at 9:00pm Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  10:00pm on Friday and Saturday.

Do you take reservations?

The Flying Squirrel Pub primarily offers first-come, first-served seating. We offer counter service ordering along with QR code ordering at your table. Please contact us directly for large parties or special accommodations.

What beers do you have on tap?

Our rotating tap list features regional craft breweries from North Carolina and the Southeast, alongside select national favorites. Tap selections change regularly.

Do you serve local North Carolina craft beer?

Yes. We proudly feature beers from many North Carolina breweries, giving guests the opportunity to explore some of the best craft beer the region has to offer. Examples include Highland Brewing, Hi-Wire, Boojum, New Belgium, NoDa, Bold Rock, Flat Rock, French Broad Brewing, Nantahala and Greenman.

How often does your beer list change?

New beers are added frequently based on seasonal releases, brewery collaborations, and customer favorites.

Food FAQs

What kind of food does The Flying Squirrel Pub serve?

We offer elevated pub fare including wings, burgers, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and rotating specials. We have won Best Wings, Best French Fries, and Best Pub Food from the Asheville Media Group Best of Asheville in 2024 and 2025.

Are your wings made fresh?

Yes. Our wings are smoked in house, fried to order and tossed in our homemade sauces or dry rubs and are among our most popular menu items.  We have won Best Wings from the Asheville Media Group Best of Asheville in 2024 and 2025.

Do you have vegetarian options?

Yes. We offer several vegetarian-friendly menu items and are happy to help guests find suitable choices.

Do you have gluten-sensitive options?

Yes. Guests with dietary restrictions are encouraged to speak with a team member about available options, but we do offer gluten free buns and pizza crusts just to highlight a couple items.

Music Bingo & Trivia FAQs

When is Music Bingo at The Flying Squirrel Pub?

Music Bingo takes place every Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a different music theme each week.

Is Music Bingo free to play?

Yes. Music Bingo is free to participate in and prizes are awarded throughout the event.

Can I win prizes while playing Music Bingo?

Yes. We typical play two boards per sessions and give away 2-4 prizes per board so that way we can have plenty of winners.  Prizes are in the form of scratch off cards, making winning another surprise.  Prizes change weekly but include things like free T-Shirts, discounts on food, free appetizers and other great Flying Squirrel surprises!

What music themes do you use for Music Bingo?

Themes change weekly and may include karaoke favorites, one-hit wonders, the 80s, the 90s, movie songs, TV themes, and many other categories.

Do I need to make a reservation for Music Bingo?

Reservations are not required, but arriving early is recommended for popular themes.

When is Trivia at The Flying Squirrel Pub?

Trivia takes place every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM with different rounds each week. Trivia is hosted by Billy’s Asheville Trivia.

Is Trivia free to play?

Yes. Trivia is free to participate in and prizes are awarded at the end of the night.

What prizes can we win for playing Trivia?

We award prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, plus bonus prizes through the rounds.

Do I need a team to play Trivia?

No. Individuals can play or ask a bartender and we can help pair you up with others or some of our regular teams.  Teams with more than 6 members are welcome, but they will be docked points for each member over 6.

Do I need to make a reservation for Trivia?

Reservations are not required, but arriving early is recommended for securing a table.

Patio & Pet-Friendly FAQs

Do you have outdoor seating?

Yes. We have two patios, the front patio features tables and umbrellas but is open air.  The back patio is covered, has ceiling fans and heaters for the cold months.

Is The Flying Squirrel Pub dog friendly?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome on either our front or back patios.  The Buncombe County Health Department does not permit dogs inside the pub.

Is your patio open year-round?

The front patio is weather dependent, but the back patio is open year-round.

Do you have any other outdoor seating?

Yes.  Beyond our two patios we have a few picnic tables in an outdoor grassy area.

When at the pub do I have to order via the QR Codes at the table?

No. The QR Codes at the tables are there for your convenience and you are welcome to order directly from them.  Beyond that we are a counter service establishment, and you can order food or drinks at either end of the bar.
